ribbon flower bracelet

Check out Phar-Ma's precious ribbon bracelet tutorial. 
To tweak for a group craft:

• Pre- singe ribbon edges to avoid fraying (if you want to do that step)
• Allow girls to add velcro
• Pre cut one flower (instead of two as in the tutorial)
• glue on with fabric glue or...
• teach the girls to stitch on the flower, or pin it on?

For Little Flowers themes: 
ribbons: find patterns of ivy, hearts, sunflowers, etc.
center felt design: hearts (add a cross on top for Love of God), ivy, a cut out of your current flower, symbols of the saint or virtue (could even stitch on a saint medal).

stitched fabric flowers

Martha's stitched flowers could be used to create various flowers.

Sweet and simple (but likely would need mama helpers for tying off, etc.)

Ideas:

• stitch onto a totebag
• hot glue (with adult assistance) onto headbands
• attach to a wire "stem"

tile coasters

Jesswilde on Instructables shares the instructions for easy-peasy tile coasters.

Only supplies needed:

• 16 cent tiles
•  Mod Podge (or 3 parts white glue, 1 part water, add  2 Tbsp varnish for shine)
• pretty printouts of your saint or flower.  (I recommend laser prints or color copies, as inkjet tends to smear if overworked...)

Also, Jesswilde recommends sticky felt on the back to protect surfaces- I would do that step first with the girls, then the decoupage.

*Update- I've seen several pretty coaster tutorials online- theirs are more time-intensive, yet more durable. I understand that unless you seal these with a polyurethane spray, that the Mod Podge is not entirely waterproof.  Also, heat can damage the surface. Eep.
Soooo.... see Prudent Baby for a more durable, yet time-consuming, probably-not-one-meeting craft.  Otherwise, be sure to offer the disclaimer for the above coasters:
light use, no hot beverages.

lotus flowers

Martha has a how-to for creating crepe paper lotus flowers.  Less expensive tissue would work also, although the crepe paper would be sturdier with pretty texture.

Some suggestions for working with younger crafters:
1. "fringe" scissors aren't necessary.  Kids can cut fringe with plain scissors for a quick lesson in perseverence :-) .Fringe scissors?
2. Either pre-cut the petals, or create a template for the girls to trace, then cut.

handprint sunflowers

Meet the Dubiens shares a darling handprint sunflower craft.  I'd recommend sending these home on cardboard or a cookie sheet to avoid losing gluey beads during transport.

paper corsages

Probably more of an inspiration, or mommy craft... these pretty corsages from Oh happy day require a glue gun and some patience.

Crafty Red Fox has a great tutorial for making polymer clay (think Fimo, Sculpey) roses.

Paper Lilies

Family Fun's paper lilies are lovely for older girls, or a small group of younger flowers (with mama help!)

Tissue Poppies

Make and Takes shares tissue posies perfect for precious poppies.
Oriental Trading offers a craft kit which includes the following poem:
“When you see this red flower, it is called a Poppy. Remember those who fought and died for our country. Remember their sacrifice, it is their lives that they gave. It is because of them we are known as Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.”.

Stitched Sunflower

Stitch a sunflower with Make and Takes.

BIG Sunflower craft

No Time for Flashcards features a really big sunflower craft.  Some great processes here (painting, cutting, sprinkling and gluing)...would require a big space, and would be ideal for a lovely outdoor craft experience.

Chrysanthemum Pillow

Chrysanthemum pillow by H is for Handmade- granted this is for an adventurous craft mom if you wanted to tackle this with a group of girls.  Most likely, a simplified version would be a better fit for a group. 

Ideas: Precut petals glued without the folding (although the folds give the flower a gorgeous dimensionality...).  Fewer petals? A smaller version would yield a less expensive project with less time needed.  The petals could be glued to a jar lid for an ornament.

Love of God-peony craft

Peony felt clip tutorial by Yoonie.  Variation: make a pin rather than the clip.

Stand Up Sunflowers

Disney crafts makes a sunflower garden from craft foam and pipe cleaners.

 To simplify, the girls could also make one or two flowers, attaching them to a flower pot cutout.
